General Check-ups

Dr. Landsiedel believes that regular dental check-ups are the key to keeping your teeth healthy. He advises his patients to schedule routine exams every six months. These twice-yearly visits can help prevent plaque build up and allow Dr. Landsiedel to treat gum disease in its earliest stages.

Scheduled Cleanings

Dr. Landsiedel recommends that each of his patients have a scheduled cleaning every six months. Even the best at-home oral hygiene is not sufficient to completely stop the progression of some dental problems. He and his helpful staff will happily try to schedule your cleanings around your general check-ups.

Gum Disease Prevention

It is imperative that you practice a healthy regimen of oral hygiene at home. Dr. Landsiedel recommends brushing after every meal, avoiding excessive sugary snacks, and adopting a daily routine that includes adequate flossing. Following a daily regimen such as this can help you to avoid many problems that are associated with tooth decay and loss.

For patients who are suffering from periodontal (gum) disease, Dr. Landsiedel is proud to offer a gentle and effective treatment using the PerioLase® MVP-7, the world's first digital dental laser. The laser was designed specifically for periodontal treatment. Causing little or no discomfort to patients, this breakthrough laser treatment can safely treat most gum disease and help you regain better oral health.

Bridges

Bridges are used when it is necessary to replace missing teeth. In modern dentistry, there are three types of dental bridges:

  • Traditional bridges, or fixed bridges as they are sometimes called, are comprised of a false tooth or teeth supported on either side by a dental crown.
  • Resin bonded bridges consist of a pontic, or replacement tooth, that is fused to metal bands and then bonded to the adjacent natural teeth using an undetectable resin.
  • Cantilever bridges are used primarily on areas such as the front teeth where there is less stress. They are mainly used when there are only natural teeth on one side of the open space. The artificial tooth is anchored to the remaining natural teeth.

Crowns

Crowns are used to reinforce teeth that are weakened or cracked. They cover the entire surface area of a damaged tooth, restoring strength and beauty while preserving as much of the original tooth’s structure as possible.

Children’s Dentistry

Dr. Landsiedel is a strong proponent of children’s dentistry. He believes it is never too early to get your children involved in preventive dental care. As with anything, healthy habits that are reinforced at a young age are usually more likely to become part of a standard way of living. Additionally, bringing children into the dental practice at a young age is a good way to familiarize them with the offices and personnel so they will not experience any undue anxiety during subsequent dental visits.
